Vishrambaug Wada, located in the old city area of Pune has got the distinction of being a luxurious residence of Peshwa Bajirao II. The historic structure is spread on an area of about 20,000 sq. ft. and is famous for its exquisite entrance and a beautifully carved wooden balcony placed just above the entrance gate. Presently the house has been undertaken by the Pune Municipal Corporation and is being used as a post office on the ground floor along with few other municipal offices. |
| The house also boasts of a small heritage museum showcasing a fine collection of artifacts, beautiful paintings and pieces of writings all gathered and restored with the efforts of noted Maratha Historian, Babasaheb Purandhare. The Vishrambaug Wada boasts of a varied variety of attractions with its beautiful structure being made out of fine bricks. The main attraction is its beautiful entrance which is entirely surrounded by exquisitely crafted wooden balcony. The Wada also houses a large dancing hall located on the first floor and meant for entertaining Bajirao. Construction of the entire house is a beautiful depiction of the type of artwork that was prevalent during the regime of Peshwas.
